Theatrical Stage Plays with an Inspirational Message: A Decade of Daniel Barksdale’s Productions
Local playwright Daniel Barksdale has been bringing theatrical stage plays to audiences for a decade, providing excellent entertainment with an inspirational message. Barksdale’s first stage play production was Meet the McCarters, which opened at Forest Level Baptist Church in Virginia in 2012. This show was free to the public and had general admission seating. Five years later, Barksdale wrote, directed, and produced his second stage play production called Addicted. This time around, tickets were sold for only $5, and the show opened at Forest Level Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. The first showing of Addicted sold out quickly, leading to invitations to present it in many other churches due to its powerful message and scriptural references.
In 2018, Daniel Barksdale presented Tempted: Lead us Not Into Temptation as his third stage play production. For the first time ever a local tour was undertaken with Madison Heights, Farmville, Appomattox, Concord and Forest all visited by the production company.
Barksdale’s latest stage play production is Still Wearing Your Name which opened at Destiny Christian Fellowship during Fall of 2021. The show had two sold out performances out of three shows total and went on a tour that included stops in Roanoke (Virginia), Washington D.C., and Greensboro (North Carolina) in early 2022.
Barksdale is thrilled to welcome back his supporters to live theatrical stage play productions again after a hiatus caused by COVID-19 restrictions. His primary focus remains on bringing excellent entertainment with an inspirational message that applies to everyday life. He has shown that great creativity can be achieved with even modest resources; from free admissions events at local churches to touring several cities within Virginia and beyond.
If you are looking for quality entertainment that will leave you feeling inspired long after the curtain closes then you may want to keep an eye on upcoming productions by Daniel Barksdale.
